What each actually is. Fairy Meadows is a focused 3 to 4 day trekking adjacent excursion built around Nanga Parbat views. Hunza is a full valley destination with forts, lakes, bazaars and multiple sightseeing days' worth of variety.
Physical demand, Fairy Meadows requires more. Reaching Fairy Meadows involves a rough jeep track and a moderate walk; Hunza's main sights are comfortably vehicle accessible throughout.
Can you do both? Yes, and many extended itineraries do, Fairy Meadows and Hunza aren't really "either/or" so much as complementary stops on a longer northern Pakistan trip, given their relative proximity along the same general route.
