Spantik (also known as Golden Peak) is widely regarded as one of the more approachable 7,000m peaks technically, making it a popular objective for climbers building toward more serious Karakoram summits. This is a genuine mountaineering expedition, not a trek, technical climbing skill and prior high altitude experience are required.
Trek Itinerary
Days 1 to 3, Approach to Base Camp
Drive to Nagar Valley, trek to Spantik Base Camp with porters carrying expedition equipment.
Days 4 to 14, Acclimatisation & Camp Establishment
Progressive rotation between higher camps for acclimatisation, weather dependent.
Days 15 to 18, Summit Window
Summit push timed around the best available weather window.
Days 19 to 22, Descent & Return
Descend to base camp, trek out and drive back to Hunza.
