Concordia is the single most celebrated viewpoint in the Karakoram, a glacial amphitheatre where K2, Broad Peak, Gasherbrum I and Gasherbrum II are all visible simultaneously, a concentration of 8,000m peaks unmatched anywhere else on the trekking map. This itinerary is built specifically around reaching Concordia efficiently, for trekkers whose priority is that view over a longer multi destination expedition.
Trek Itinerary
Days 1 to 2, Skardu to Askole
Drive via Shigar to Askole.
Days 3 to 5, Askole to Urdukas
Trek via Paiju to Urdukas, onto the Baltoro Glacier.
Days 6 to 7, Urdukas to Concordia
Continue along the glacier to Concordia, arriving with time for sunset over the peaks.
Day 8, Concordia Full Day
A full day at Concordia for sunrise and sunset photography and, conditions permitting, a short excursion toward K2 Base Camp.
Days 9 to 12, Return to Askole
Retrace the route back to Askole, drive to Skardu.
