Day 1, Fly to Gilgit, drive to Hunza
Morning flight past Nanga Parbat, then up the Karakoram Highway to Karimabad.
Day 2, Karimabad & Baltit Fort
Baltit Fort, the old town lanes and the terraces below, with an easy first day at altitude.
Day 3, Eagle's Nest & Altit
Pre dawn drive to Duikar for sunrise on Rakaposhi and Golden Peak. Afternoon at Altit Fort and its royal garden.
Day 4, Attabad Lake & Passu
Upper Hunza, Attabad, Gulmit, the Passu Cones, Hussaini bridge and Borith Lake.
Day 5, Khunjerab Pass
Sost to the 4,693m Chinese border and back, the highest paved border crossing in the world.
Day 6, Nagar & Hopper
Cross the river to Nagar for the Hopper glacier viewpoint and the quieter side of the valley.
Day 7, Free day in Karimabad
Unscheduled, walk the Ultar meadow trail, revisit the forts, or simply sit with the view.
Day 8, Drive to Gilgit, fly out
Morning drive down the KKH for the flight to Islamabad.

Driving costs two days each way. Flying to Gilgit converts four travel days into six days in the valley. If the KKH itself is the point for you, our 12 day Karakoram Highway itinerary drives it properly in both directions.
It happens, these flights are weather dependent. With eight days there is room to absorb it: we switch to the road and drop the free day on Day 7 rather than cutting anything you came for.
