The Makran Coastal Highway runs 650km from Karachi to Gwadar along a shoreline almost nobody visits, mud volcanoes, wind carved rock formations, the Princess of Hope, and long empty beaches on the Arabian Sea. This is a road trip rather than a resort holiday, and the emptiness is the appeal.

Day 1, Karachi to Kund Malir
West along the coastal highway into Hingol National Park, Pakistan's largest, reaching Kund Malir beach by afternoon.
Day 2, Hingol National Park
The mud volcanoes at Chandragup, the Princess of Hope and Sphinx rock formations, and the Hingol river gorge.
Day 3, Ormara
Continue west to Ormara, its headland and long beach, with the fishing harbour in the late afternoon.
Day 4, Gwadar
On to Gwadar, the Hammerhead promontory, Marine Drive, the port viewpoint and Koh e Batil for sunset over the bay.
Day 5, Gwadar and fly out
Morning at Gwadar's beaches, then the flight back to Karachi.

Questions About This Tour
Yes. Foreigners require an NOC for travel in Balochistan and are usually accompanied by a security escort on parts of the coastal route. We arrange all of it, but it takes lead time, book at least three weeks ahead.
Modest. Kund Malir and Ormara have basic huts and guesthouses rather than hotels; Gwadar has proper hotels. If you need consistent comfort every night, this is not the right trip.
November to March. The coast is uncomfortably hot from April, and the summer monsoon can close sections of the highway.
