Chukail Meadows (also called Chukail Banda) sits at roughly 10,700 ft in the Mankial Valley north of Bahrain, an off the beaten path alpine meadow reached by 4x4 and a moderately challenging trek, declared a national park for its Markhor, snow leopard and golden monal population. This is Swat well beyond the standard Malam Jabba and Mahodand Lake circuit.

Day by Day Itinerary
Day 1, Islamabad to Bahrain
Drive via the Swat Motorway to Bahrain, overnight in a local guesthouse.
Day 2, Jeep to Mankial & Trek to Chukail
4x4 jeep from Bahrain to Kamarkhwa Banda (~2 hrs), then a moderately steep 2 to 4 hour trek up through forest to the meadows. Camp overnight at Chukail.
Day 3, Chukail Meadows
Full day exploring the meadows, Mankial Peak viewpoints and surrounding pastures, a genuine wilderness day with no facilities beyond your camp.
Day 4, Descend & Return to Islamabad
Trek back down to the jeep point, drive to Bahrain and on to Islamabad.

Moderately challenging, a steep, sustained 2 to 4 hour ascent through forest terrain. Reasonable fitness is needed; this isn't a gentle family walk.
No, there are no hotels, cafes or shops at Chukail Meadows itself. Camping is the only option, which is why we bring full camping equipment as part of this package.
Late May through July, reviewers consistently note the colourful wildflower bloom fades after the July August rains, so earlier in that window is better for flowers specifically.
