Sheosar Lake, Deosai's High Altitude Centrepiece

Sheosar Lake sits near the western edge of the Deosai Plateau, its still water reflecting the surrounding peaks and sky in a way that makes it the single most photographed spot within the national park, most Deosai itineraries build in sunset time here specifically.

History

The lake has long been part of the seasonal grazing landscape used by Gujjar shepherds moving herds across Deosai in summer, before the plateau's 1993 national park designation brought wider conservation attention and, later, tourism.
