Overview
Ratti Gali Lake is Neelum Valley's signature high altitude lake, reached by jeep track and a short trek through alpine meadows. Surrounded by snow streaked peaks even in summer, its glacial blue water and remote setting make it one of Azad Kashmir's most rewarding day trips.
History
The lake and surrounding pastures have traditionally been used as summer grazing grounds by local shepherd communities from the Neelum Valley, who move livestock to the high meadows during the short summer season.
