Rama Lake, Beneath Nanga Parbat's Rupal Face

Rama Lake sits in a forested meadow above Astore, with the Rupal Face of Nanga Parbat rising dramatically behind it, a quieter, less visited counterpart to the Fairy Meadows views of the same mountain from its opposite side.

History

The lake and surrounding meadow have traditionally served as a summer grazing and camping area for Astore Valley communities, gaining wider visitor interest only in recent years as the region's tourism infrastructure has developed.
