Overview

Noor Mahal was built in 1875 for the Nawab of Bahawalpur, blending Italian, Corinthian and Islamic architectural styles into one of Punjab's most striking palace buildings, now open to visitors and illuminated dramatically after dark.

History

Commissioned by Nawab Sir Sadiq Muhammad Khan IV and completed in 1875, Noor Mahal reportedly saw only one night of royal residence, legend holds the Nawab's wife objected to the adjoining graveyard, though the building continued in official use for state functions.
