Nagma Valley, Quiet Orchard Villages Off the Main Trail

Nagma Valley (also spelled Nagam Valley) is one of Skardu's quieter side valleys, a short drive from the city but a world away from the main tourist circuit. Terraced wheat fields, apricot and mulberry orchards, and stone and timber Balti farmhouses line the valley floor beneath bare granite ridges.

There are no major built attractions here, the appeal is the everyday rhythm of rural Baltistan: farmers working the terraces, children walking to school along irrigation channels, and locals happy to share a cup of noon chai with visiting travelers. Best visited in a half day trip from Skardu city, ideally in April May when the orchards blossom or August September during the apricot harvest.
