Overview

Borith Lake sits above Passu village, a small saline lake ringed by willow trees and popular with campers and birdwatchers given its position on a migratory bird route, quieter and less commercialised than Attabad Lake despite similar mountain scenery.

History

The lake has traditionally been used by Gojal-region herders, its saline water distinguishing it from Hunza's other freshwater lakes, with a small guesthouse settlement developing on its shore in recent decades.
