Baltit Fort, 700 Year Old Seat of the Mirs of Hunza

Baltit Fort overlooks Karimabad from a commanding position, home to the Mirs (rulers) of Hunza for over 700 years before being restored by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture in the 1990s. The Tibetan influenced architecture and small museum offer a window into centuries of Hunza history.

The fort's terrace delivers one of the best panoramic views in the valley, Rakaposhi, Ultar Sar and the terraced fields of Karimabad below.
