History

Established to protect a vast stretch of Balochistan's coastal desert wilderness, Hingol has long held religious significance too, centred on the Hinglaj Mata Mandir, one of the most important Hindu pilgrimage sites in Pakistan.

Geography

Spanning roughly 6,100 square kilometres across Lasbela, Awaran and Gwadar districts, Hingol combines desert, mud volcanoes, dramatic wind-eroded rock formations and Arabian Sea coastline in one park.

Culture

A landscape carrying deep significance for both Baloch coastal communities and Hindu pilgrims, who travel from across Pakistan each spring for the Hinglaj Mata Mandir pilgrimage.
