Patundas, reached from Passu village in upper Hunza, is widely regarded as the best short trek in the entire Hunza region, genuine high-altitude reward for a manageable 3-day commitment.

What makes it special: The trek climbs to Patundas Meadow at roughly 4,300m, delivering dramatic views of Passu Cones, Passu Glacier and the wider Batura Muztagh range, scenery that would normally require a much longer trek elsewhere in the Karakoram.

Difficulty: Moderate, a genuine multi-day trek with meaningful elevation gain, but achievable for reasonably fit trekkers without extensive prior high-altitude experience, given sensible pacing.

Why it's a good "next step" trek: For travelers who've done easier day hikes and want to test genuine multi-day trekking and altitude before committing to something like Rakaposhi Base Camp or the Baltoro, Patundas offers a lower-risk way to build that experience.

Getting there: A short drive from Karimabad to Passu, then trekking directly from the village, convenient logistics compared to most Baltistan treks requiring a longer approach drive first.
