Passu, in upper Hunza, is defined by two dramatic natural features, the jagged Passu Cones peaks and the Passu Glacier itself, making it one of the valley's most photographed stops beyond Karimabad.
The Passu Cones, also known as Tupopdan, are a series of sharp, jagged peaks rising dramatically above the village, one of the most instantly recognisable mountain silhouettes in the Karakoram, and a defining backdrop for the whole area.
Passu Glacier is reachable via a relatively short, accessible walk from the village, one of the more approachable glaciers in the region for travelers without a serious trekking commitment, offering close up views of the ice and surrounding moraine.
Batura Glacier, stretching roughly 57km, is among the longest glaciers outside the polar regions, a serious trekking objective for experienced trekkers wanting to go beyond the accessible Passu Glacier viewpoint.
The Hussaini Bridge, a rickety wood and wire suspension bridge over the Hunza River, is a genuine adventure photography favourite, walking across it is a memorable, mildly nerve testing experience for most visitors.
