Concordia, at roughly 4,650m where the Baltoro and Godwin-Austen glaciers meet, offers the single most concentrated view of major peaks anywhere in the Karakoram, often described as the "Throne Room of the Mountain Gods."

What you actually see: From one location, Concordia offers direct views of K2, Broad Peak, and both Gasherbrum I and II, four separate 8,000m peaks visible together, an unmatched panorama.

Getting there: Roughly 8-9 days of trekking from Askole via the Baltoro Glacier, making Concordia the standard turnaround or staging point for K2 Base Camp itself, roughly a day's walk further.

Why trekkers specifically aim for Concordia: Even without continuing to K2 Base Camp itself, reaching Concordia delivers the trip's visual climax, many describe the Concordia panorama as more memorable than the base camp visit that follows it.

Camping at Concordia: Most itineraries spend one or two nights here, allowing sunset and sunrise views of the surrounding peaks under changing light, worth the extra day if your schedule allows.

See our Concordia Trek package, or our K2 Base Camp Trek guide for the extended itinerary continuing beyond Concordia.
