Hunza is one of the most photogenic valleys in Pakistan, here's where to actually go for the shots you've likely seen online, and when.

Eagle's Nest, Duikar: The single most iconic Hunza viewpoint, overlooking Karimabad with Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar in the background, sunset is the classic time, though sunrise offers a quieter, less-crowded alternative with equally dramatic light.

Attabad Lake: The turquoise water photographs best in bright midday sun, when the mineral colour is most vivid, an unusual case where photography timing runs opposite to the usual golden-hour advice.

Passu Cones: Best photographed in early morning light from the roadside viewpoints, with the jagged peaks catching warm light before the day's haze builds.

Baltit Fort: Photographs well throughout the day given its elevated position, though late afternoon light on the fort's facade is particularly striking.

Cherry blossom season (April): Orchards throughout the valley offer a completely different photographic subject, soft pink and white blossom against the Karakoram backdrop, though timing shifts year to year.
